  •       STUCK ! - 50 feet into pullback ???   3500 HP TUG Boat trying to pull the 24" pipe back

    • Tug pulling for all its worth

    • Rehooking Tug after breaking the HDPE pipe

    After pulling the pipe & the reamer back to the exit point in the river, the pipe would still not pull back easy. Divers went down to inspect and found the Reamer and first two drill rods wrapped in 1 1/2" cable. The divers cut the cable to free the Reamer & pipe

  •                                                       BURIED CABLE ENCOUNTER  

    • 1 1/2" Steel Cable left in the River in the Past

    • Over 200 wraps of cable on the first two drill rods

    We think the cable was from on old existing Mill site or an ancor cable from past dredging operations in the area.

    On the secound pull back, the divers inspected the pipe and reamer for more cable before it entered the ground.

    Conditions: Lake Hills, Bellevue, WA 800 ft. HDD project under Kelsy Creek: 10ft. of road base Glacial Till, then 15 ft. of Peat bog 

                       material, and finally dense cemented glacial till to 60ft. The Black Diamond HDD Projects in Kent, WA : 1100 ft. Bore under

                       Hwy 167 & the 1900ft. Green River Bore were Mostly Clay with some gravel lenses
